John Dalabalabong

John Dalabalabong
Hring hrong hring.
John Dalabalabong
Whistling through a string.
John Dalabalabong
Roodling on a bean.
John Dalabalabong
If you know what I mean.

Hastic McPastic

Hastic McPastic is simply fantastic

His legs are blue and his ears are elastic.

He cartwheels when he walks which he does so enthusiastic,

His face is bright yellow and his body is plastic.

Tumbling all day may seem that bit drastic

But he loves it, they call him Gymnastic McPastic.

The House Upon the Far Away

The house upon the far away

It’s where the Sils of Soebuck stay

When holding their very secret meetings

They are welcomed with an array of secret greetings

A sailors salute with a pipe and a cap

It’s the first greeting before a very brief nap

They are awakened to the sound of a hoof on a letter

Then a musical welcome performed by a red setter

Next up is the hail from the hermit Jim Pope

Who can only be seen through a high-powered telescope

Pan left across the rivers and beyond the caves

A team of tame tigers offer a thousand waves

With the completings of the greetings

Next come the seatings

Then there’s the eating’s, the eating’s of meatings

But what is discussed at these secret meetings in the house upon the far away?

It’s a mystery. They roar and they shout and are boisterous from the mouth but no one can hear what they say.

What is the Colour of Dark?

What is the colour of dark? I thought

As the lights were switched off on the car.

Is it black? Is it navy? Or somewhere between?

A bit like the colour of tar.

Light is bright and it’s all sorts of white

It can even be yellow or blue.

But dark is quite strange

Without the same colour range

I might ask a fox I once knew.

Silent Noises

I thought I heard a silent pop
And then I thought I heard it stop.
Then I thought I heard a bubble,
Then a second, double bubbles.

Soon after that I heard the sun,
Beaming its rays on everyone
I heard a mime when he looked around
And then I heard my Daddy when he frowned

I was thinking how this was quite absurd
When I heard the loudest nothing I had ever heard
It started squeaking and ended with a blast.
I think it saved the best for last.

Silent noises are for ears so keen
And are almost never ever seen
They develop from mist falling up to the sky
Just once a year on 3rd of July.

A Sneeze to Please

The nightmans pipe
With shadowed flipe
Within the moonlights gaze
When hat and cape
Beneath the flape
Then comes a misty haze
Wollupe the group
And stoop for soup
When night time turns to freeze
Many miles of moonlight later
He is overdue a sneeze.
A sneeze to please the Sturkaneze
Who bet upon his nose
A bookies on his eyebrows
The receipts come from his toes.

The Didgyduldeen

Of all the dances there have ever been

Be careful when doing the didgyduldeen

I danced it once and I found it quite nice

But the rule is to never do the dance twice

For out of the shadows jumped Barnaby Bren

The roughular, toughular mad fighting hen

Ducking and weaving with anger in his eyes

Just ‘cos I twirled, hopped and slapped my own thighs

If I could I would have thrown in the towel

As there's never been as mean-spirited or as dangerous a fowl.

I was face to face now with the hen that's most feared

I did the didgyduldeen again and he just disappeared.
